Learn how to use an immersion blender to create a shareable watermelon margarita IN a whole mini watermelon
If watermelon is wobbly sitting on the table, set on side and slice a small amount off (only skin and bit of rind) so that it sits straight when propped back up.
In top of watermelon, cut a circle that is about 1-inch in diameter wider than head of immersion blender. When removing circle of skin/rind, also take out some of the pink watermelon flesh (enough so that immersion blender can get down to start).
Turn immersion blender on, while holding firmly onto melon, and blend while rotating head around to liquify all the pink flesh.
Remove blender and, if needed, a bit of the liquid to make room for next ingredients.
Slice limes in half and use a lime juicer to extract juice right into watermelon.
Pour in tequila and triple sec or orange liqueur and gently stir around.
Add straws and drink OR, if serving in glasses, cut the bottom off a paper cup and stick down into the melon to create a spout to pour. Pour into four glasses, salted or sugared on the rim, if desired.
Note: Margarita yield will be based on the size of your actual melon. You may adjust the amount of alcohol up or down to accommodate. Also, you may omit alcohol and add the juice of one more lime to make it a mocktail!
