The weather is warming up, and I’m back on my spring breakfast smoothie routine to power up for the busy days that lie ahead. My Keto Chocolate Orange Smoothie is a rich, creamy, crazy-delicious blend of goodness that almost seems like it should be called dessert – but it is sugar-free and has all the nutrients needed to support my low-carb breakfast. Find out how I used the new Metamucil Premium Blend (sweetened with stevia) in this sugar-free smoothie to up my daily fiber needs – a problem nutrition gap for many devotees of Keto, high protein or otherwise low-carb diets who avoid fruit and skimp on vegetables. Read on to learn more and get the keto smoothie recipe:There is not much effort in making my Keto Chocolate Orange Smoothie with fiber, and that’s a good thing for groggy-headed mornings. It just requires adding cashew milk and ice in the blender and dropping in a tablespoon of this, a few teaspoons of that, and a drizzle of sumptin-sumptin. Two minutes later, you have a filling keto smoothie for breakfast (or snack time) that has 271 calories, 19g fat, 7.4 net carbohydrate (0.0 sugar) and more than 10g protein.
Curious how a keto smoothie featuring a nut milk, nut butter, cocoa powder, MCT oil and collagen hydrolysate can have a substantial amount of fiber (7.5 grams dietary fiber per smoothie serving) with no fiber-rich yet high-carb fruit other than a skosh of orange zest? Well, I’ve simply added Metamucil Premium Blend (sweetened with plant-based Stevia) to provide 20% of my daily dietary fiber needs in one-teaspoon serving.

Getting enough fiber on a low-carb or keto diet can be tricky with most fruit and whole grains off the table. This can leave a person feeling kinda bloated, sluggish, constipated, or, at a minimum, just off your ‘go’ game. Leafy greens and avocados are a good way up fiber intake without busting the carb budget, however, using a supplement mix like Metamucil Premium Blend (sweetened with stevia) is a smart and tasty addition to the keto-friendly carbs on the menu. #LighterFeelsGood
Metamucil uses 100% natural psyllium husk fiber to trap and help eliminate the waste that weighs you down so you feel lighter and less sluggish* Metamucil (and getting enough dietary fiber in general) is beneficial not just for digestive health, but has also been shown to be good for heart health by lowering cholesterol, regulating blood sugar levels* when taken before each meal, and controlling appetite – that is, when you take a two teaspoon serving of Metamucil as directed before a meal, it makes you feel fuller so you potentially eat less.* There are no artificial flavorings or colors in this sugar-free fiber drink mix (actually, it’s a light brown drink mix powder) but mixes up into an orange color thanks to natural paprika extract and turmeric.
Seriously, I could drink a chocolate Metamucil smoothie every day either for breakfast, a post-workout snack or even dessert (it’s that rich-tasting)! It also satisfies my chocolate cravings (a very real struggle area for me) in a no sugar way and also fills me up so I’m not raiding the pantry or over-eating subconsciously.
In addition to sharing the Keto Chocolate Orange Smoothie, I’d like to invite you to take the Metamucil 2-Week Challenge. Take just one glass per day (as directed on packaging) for 14 days and experience the benefits of the Psyllium Fiber in Metamucil. Join the Challenge today and start feeling lighter today!
